My name is Samora Bazarrabusa, also known as Oibel, born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland. I am a visual artist and have been working on my skills off and on since over 20 years. Starting with spray paint I have explored and tried out many mediums over time, such as drawing, brush painting, acrylics and digital illustration. I learnt to love them all. My art has taken me to places like Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Prague or Kampala and I am looking forward to add more destinations to my list.

My artworks are mainly made of strong lines, figurative forms, bright vivid colors and have an emotional impact on the viewer. With my art I want to spark positivity and constructive but also critical thought about one’s self and the environment. I draw inspiration from all kinds of cultures, nature, society, graffiti and art in general, focusing on ideas like love, life, awareness and the abstraction of being.

My favorite way to work is free and without any prepared plan, I like to describe it as visualizing energy. I very often start paintings without knowing what they are supposed to look like in the end, I only know how they are supposed to feel. As I proceed, I constantly get new ideas which also could lead to me starting multiple paintings at the same time. Usually, the end result has nothing to do with the initial idea I had, ex-cept that it feels the same way.

Moving forward I want to do more art in public spaces in forms of murals and sculptures, the bigger the better. I believe that art has the power to change the world and has a positive impact on everybody that encounters it and therefore should be accessible as easy as possible thus included in the public landscape. Collectors and supporters of my art always tell me how good my work makes them feel on a daily basis and that’s what I am here for: To spread love and make you feel good!
